Antstar is an alias of Justin Spooner, Londoner and eccentric home recording maestro. Justin makes eclectic music Justin makes eclectic music that mixes up the everyday and the obscenely unnatural. At any point he will be trying to squeeze in the sounds of his baby son or his girlfriend’s cello into a track already filled with wobbly analogue action and bleeding edge software. He invites all kinds of collaborators to make their contributions to his sprawling compositions. Justin’s been running his own boutique label for some time, named after his grandmother Eva Hipsey.

We picked up on the track Ant3 some time ago – at that time it was an eccentric low bpm swirl of energy, but it’s a track that seems to have found its time now, next to the euphoric glitch of Hudson Mohawke and the melody hop of Ad Bourke. Jackhigh’s remix on the flip takes the track into still quirkier territory, turning into a kind of breathless gallop on a robot horse… well, anyway, you’ll see.
